![]() ![]() It's more money, but clean, safe, and offers good beds with fabulous views of the same lake. Then I hear the clerk say they have cancellations all the time. ![]() The manager said they were booked until September, when I asked about any other options for staying there. I can't write about anything else because we didn't experience other rooms or aspects. All he had to do was go in he other direction. Some moron was mowing the dried up grass and sending dust and debris all into the open door and my parents sitting on the micro porch. The peeling paint is a genuine health hazard. Seriously? I am totally ashamed that our park service wouldn't meet USDA standards for housing livestock. The manager said that the park service had inspected and approved these cabins. The hand railing was held together only by the paint since insect damage left the rail mostly hollowed out. The low ceilings featured mildew and big sheets of peeling paint. However, these cabins are dangerousI was astonished that these cabins were offered to anyone. We do outhouses when called for and we aren't afraid of rustic anything. We are campers, having done backpacks, tents, and RVs over the last 45 years. Be sure to ask specific questions at check in! More Show less I was a bit upset because at check in I asked was there any charge/hold on my card and the girl said no. I have never experienced this before but supposedly it's normal!!! My credit card account said I had paid $120 to Log Cabin Resort (in addition to my nights stay) for a whole week after I left the resort, finally it went away. Be aware of that when you're planning your stay! Also be aware that a hold is put on your credit card for about 7 days. I would definitely go again but next time we will take advantage of the cheaper tent camping or the very basic camper cabins! The location and the lake itself is worth 5 stars however the accommodation is only worth 3. Thanks to Ted the GM and the friendly guy in the breakfast room. You could spend all day on the beach relaxing, swimming or using the non motorized water sports equipment that they have for rent! The little restaurant on site was great for breakfasts (buffet style for $13), they sell alcohol and snacks in their gift shop and the staff were mostly very friendly. However, the lake was the most amazingly clean and clear water I have ever seen. Tent camping is a lot cheaper and I would probably do that the next time we stay. The accom is very basic and cost $203 per night for 3 adults in an A frame chalet. If you are looking for a great location, fantastic swimming, spectacular views and basic accommodation then this is the place for you. I think the reviews below are from People expecting 5 star accommodation. I have never experienced this before but supposedly it's normal!!! My credit card account said I had paid $120 to Log Cabin.
